The Individual Support Program serves a very diverse group of
individuals with programs tailored to each individual's
ever-changing needs.
Community integration is a very important part of this program.
The Individual Supports Program
teaches a variety of important behavioral skills by helping
individuals become involved in all aspects of the community.
Individuals are provided
the opportunity to choose between such things a where to
go on community outings, who to sit by at lunch,
what to buy on shopping trips, etc. Empowering individuals
to make informed choices and in turn experience natural
consequences encourages growth and development.
All individuals served are actively involved in all
decisions affecting them.
We also provide individuals the opportunity to participate in
physical exercise, access to occupational and speech therapy,
leisure / recreation activities as well as arts and crafts activities.
All individuals have the opportunity to move into other programs and levels inside or outside the organization when appropriate.
The program’s overall goal is to provide individual support
to enable individuals with disabilities to reach their maximum level of independence.
Examples of skill enhancement include: community integration, communication, domestic socialization and leisure/recreation.
